Nokia, Beijing's Tsinghua University Announce Joint Research Center

According to a Nikkei Electronics Asia report, Nokia announced that it will set up a Nokia Research Center in Beijing's Tsinghua University, which is expected to carry out long-term joint research programs between the two parties. Under the announced framework, this center will initially focus on research and development in various areas, including wireless, Internet, and interaction solutions, specifically focusing on Asia, as well as mechanics and hardware for multimedia communications devices and mobile Internet-based services. According to the report, this center will be the first of its kind in Asia, after similar facilities Nokia set up in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Finland.
